While losing weight generally takes quite a long time there are several things that can help you speed up the process. In this article I'm going to go through 10 quick ways to lose weight but what you have to understand is that at the end of the day it is down to you and your own determination.

1. Make Sure You Eat Breakfast

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and also starts your metabolism. You will lose weight faster when you eat a nutritious breakfast.

2. Eat Often

Eat often and but eat small. Your body will find it much easier to digest smaller meals and spreading them throughout the day will keep your metabolism going.

3. Drink Plenty of Water

Your body functions much better when its fully hydrated and that includes it's ability to digest foods and burn off fat. To put it simply, your body loses weight faster when you drink water often and in good amounts.

4. Keep a Diary of what you eat

If you keep track of everything you eat its great motivation and very easy to see the bigger picture of how your dieting is going.

5. Walk when possible

Brisk walking is a great way to burn off extra calories. Take the stairs instead of the lift. Walk to the shops instead of driving the car. Just walk whenever possible.

6. Exercise

Exercise will double your weight loss efforts. Stick to aerobic exercises like jogging and swimming that will keep your heart rate at an elevated level and within the optimum fat burning zone. Avoid weights and anything that will tire you out quickly.

7. Don't Eat Late at Night

Try not to eat late at night, ideally after 7pm. This is because your bodies metabolism more less shuts down while you sleep which means any food in your stomach won't be burnt off and will more than likely turn to fat.

8. Avoid Fatty Meats

Fatty meats like pork are especially hard for your body to burn off. Sugary things should be avoided too however the body can burn them more easily than fatty meats. White meats like chicken are very good for you though.

Substitute one or more of your meals for a health shake. Health shakes or weight loss shakes as they are sometimes known fill you up and supply your body with much needed vitamins and protein which your body is often short of when dieting.

10. Don't Weigh Yourself Everyday!

It's understandable that you want to see what progress you're making however weighing yourself everyday can be disheartening if you don't see any results straight away. If you are really doing everything mentioned above you can weigh yourself every two days and you'll see some progress everyday.
